Our True Waveâ„¢ far infrared and full spectrum infrared heaters are most effective and safest infrared heaters available.  Clearlight Infrared Sauna® models are the only ONLY infrared sauna that cancels out both EMF and ELF. Electromagnetic Fields (EMF) are energy waves with frequencies below 300 hertz or cycles per second.  Extremely low frequency (ELF) are the electric fields with frequencies from 3 to 30 hertz. Â
All Clearlight Infrared Sauna® models offer the lowest and safest EMF and ELF levels of any infrared sauna on the market, bar-none.  The EMF levels in your Clearlight Premierâ„¢ and Clearlight Sanctuaryâ„¢ saunas will be mostly below 1mg when tested directly on the heater itself.  Where you are sitting in the sauna, the EMF levels are virtually 0mg.  The ELF levels in your Clearlight Infrared Saunaâ„¢ are 3 – 5 times below the threshold of concern.  All of our competitors are over 20 times above the threshold of concern. Â
Be sure to ask when shopping for an infrared sauna if their infrared saunas are both low EMF and low ELF. Â
Â
As the pioneer of low EMF carbon infrared sauna heaters, our patent-pending infrared heater technology reduces the EMF levels where you are sitting in the sauna to virtually zero. Our exclusive manufacturing process allows us to cancel out EMF to levels that are virtually undetectable.
Using ultra-sensitive EMF testing equipment, all of our heaters are tested to ensure safe levels of EMF. Electromagnetic Fields are measured in milligauss (mG). It is generally accepted that exposure to EMF should not exceed 3 milligauss. The EPA (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency) has proposed a safety standard of 3 mG. Sweden has also set a recommended safety limit of 3 mG. When EMF levels are measured inside your Jacuzzi® sauna all around your seated position, EMF levels are virtually undetectable.
Please see the testing below performed by EMF testing lab VitaTech Electromagnetics. These EMF reading are measured directly on the heater. Where you are seated in the sauna, the levels are virtually zero.
Extremely low frequency (ELF) radiation is at the low-energy end of the electromagnetic spectrum and is often referred to as the Electric Fields.  The most common ELF field is radiated by utility power lines.  You are exposed to these fields whenever you are near electrical appliances of any kind.
The effect of the electric field strength on a person’s body is defined as body voltage strength and is expressed in millivolts (mV). Out in nature, far away from electrical sources, the human body’s natural body voltage is near 0mV. It has been found that when this body voltage rises, in sensitive individuals, it can cause disturbed sleep, irritating sensations and other ailments.
The Threshold of Concern level for ELF is 1,000 mV.  When testing Clearlight Saunas with our low ELF technology, users test as low as 200 mV – five times below the threshold of concern.  When testing our competitor’s saunas, their ELF levels exceed 20,000 mV – twenty times above the threshold of concern.
Each individual’s levels will vary as some people are more conductive due to the makeup of their body (higher salt levels, for example).  In our testing, we did not have anyone test above the threshold of concern in a shielded Clearlight Infrared Sauna®.
Jacuzzi® saunas are one of the only infrared saunas with the electrical wiring run through metal conduit.  This shields both the ELF and EMF to ensure that your sauna is the safest available.  In addition to running the wiring through metal conduit, we also twist the wires as this reduces ELF and EMF even further.  Another Jacuzzi® infrared sauna exclusive!
When testing our sauna heaters and not the individual user, our ELF levels are equally impressive.  The Threshold Of Concern when testing the sauna itself is 10 Volts/Meter (V/m).  Clearlight Infrared Saunas® average 3.4 V/m.  Our competitors measure 300+ V/m. Â
Ask any of our competitors what level of EMF and ELF their heaters emit. You will be shocked at how high the levels are in their saunas or they may not even know!  The following are some examples of tests in our competitors saunas:
 | EMF Measured Directly On Emitter |
---|---|
Clearlight Infrared Saunas | Â < 3mG |
Regular Carbon Heaters | 70 mG – 100mG |
Ceramic Infrared Heaters | 20 mG – 40mG |
*acceptable levels should be below 3mG.
Electromagnetic Fields (EMF) are energy waves with frequencies below 300 hertz or cycles per second. The electromagnetic fields we encounter daily come from every day things such as power lines, radar and microwave towers, television and computer screens, motors, fluorescent lights, microwave ovens, cell phones, electric blankets, house wiring and hundreds of other common electrical devices.
Levels of electromagnetic fields (EMF) from human-made sources have increased steadily over the past 50-100 years. Most EMF exposures come from increased use of electricity and new technologies. In the past decades, potential adverse effects from EMF exposure on human health have been an important topic of research. In fact, in California, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) created the California Electric and Magnetic Fields Program to research and provide education and technical assistance on the possible health effects of exposure to EMF.
In the California EMF report published in 2002, the three scientists concluded, among other things, that “To one degree or another, all three of the DHS scientists are inclined to believe that EMFs can cause some degree of increased risk of childhood leukemia, adult brain cancer, Lou Gehrig’s Disease, and miscarriage.” and indicated that levels below 3mg are safe.
